Contact us The research in the Doctoral School for Management and Organisational Science involves economic policy, mainly focusing on agricultural economics and policy, analysis of economic and market processes with special emphasis on competitiveness, food marketing and world economics, regional development, rural policy and environmental management.
The structure of the doctoral school curriculum
The curriculum of the doctoral school was developed to suit the research profile. The backbone of the training is constituted by methodological subjects: Research methodology, Methods of qualitative research, Communication of scientific results, Multivariate statistics, Informatics in research and Econometrics. The compulsory professional subjects (Economic theory and economic policy, Organisational behaviour, Corporate sustainability) serve a dual function: to improve the preparedness of our students with different economic knowledge and to engage students to read standard works in the subject of economic science.

Introduction to the programme
The name of the Doctoral School is: Wittmann Antal Plant, Animal and Food sciences Multidisciplinary Doctoral School.
WAMDI is authorized to instruct PhD students, coordinate the procedure for obtaining PhD degrees and issue doctoral (PhD) degrees in the following scientific fields:
-crop and horticultural science
-animal sciences
-food sciences
There are main, generic subjects that ensures the multidisciplinary studies.
Specialization
By the end of the first phase (at the end of Academic Year 2 –by31st August included) 120 credit points are to be completed. During the summer examination period of Year 2,the doctoral student must successfully conclude a complex examination. The successful complex examination does not have a credit value. If the doctoral student fails the theoretical part of the complex examination (major or minor course/subject), he/she may retake the exam once more during the summer examination period.
-Regarding the course/subject examinations,a minimum of 40 credit points are to be completed and a maximum of 45 credit points added to the compulsory 120 credits;
-Studying the Literature of the Dissertationandmaking a Literature Review on the topic - 25 points;
-Holding a lecture at the seminar organised by the Doctoral School at the end of Year 1. The summary of the lecture including its slides are displayed on the website of the Doctoral School-8 points;
-Further credit points can be gained as described in the “Publications, seminars” section and with the completion of the research work prescribed for the first phase of the studies.
-45 credit points are the minimum to be gained by the end of the first academic year.
One credit equals 30 individual study hours or 30 hours doing research. Study work can be realized by participating at lectures and practical classes (contactlessons) and meeting the requirements of the given course/subject.
In the second phase
The research related credit points can be gained not only by elaborating the literature of the research task, carrying out experiments, evaluating their results, but also with publication activities and conference presentations (workshop etc.), and completing the dissertation.
The professional seminars (total 4) organised by the Doctoral School provide 4-5 credit points each. The credit points can be divided, which means that if on a given area maximum 20 credit points are obtainable but the doctoral student just manages to gain 10 in the given semester, the rest of the credit points can be obtained during the oncoming semester(s). Over the training,the doctoral student is given the opportunity to undertake practical lessons or seminars, through which they can be engaged ineducational activities.Three (3) credit points can be given for teaching 1 contact lesson a week throughout a semester. The doctoral student can only participate in the first four semesters of the training and the total number of credits obtainable with teaching activities cannot be more than 10 per semester. In the four semesters of the second phase,30 credit points are to be gained. In the second phase, the doctoral student can requesta maximum 1-academic year-long passive status ifhe/she –bythe date of the application –has fulfilled the credit point requirements pro rata temporis.

You are invited to acquaint yourself with our Doctoral Program whose unique feature is the transdisciplinary approach to studying and investigating complex problems. The program is an integral part of the Doctoral School of Regional and Business Administration Sciences of the Széchenyi István University, Győr, Hungary since 2016. The doctoral program, which has enjoyed fundamental support from the Pallas Athene Domus Meriti Foundation, is the first full-fledged, international doctoral program in the field of business administration sciences with a transdisciplinary approach administered in English. Law. Governance. Leadership. Széchenyi István University is the first to offer LLM program in Law and Governance in Europe. The program offers a unique experience and knowledge in the field of leadership, decision-making and governance. Participants will gain theoretical and practical knowledge in public law pertaining to governance; models of government; legislatives studies; international and supranational aspects of governance; case law of national and international courts; public management, NGOs and media-governance.
The primary aim is to enable legal experts to participate efficiently in different levels of legislation, decision-making processes, in both the public and private sector. The program provides additional insight into governmental decision-making and will also include communication activities, networking and cultural events in various Central European cities – to enhance leadership skills in a domestic or international environment. Each opportunity is designed to prepare students for careers at the intersection of law and public management.
